Spring is a great time to see Connecticut in bloom, from colorful tulip fields to daffodils and cherry blossoms. This guide highlights the best places across the state to find flowers at their peak this spring. Whether you’re planning a weekend outing or a quick photo stop, these spots are worth the visit.
Denison Homestead – Mystic, CT

The Denison Homestead in Mystic is home to thousands of blooming daffodils in the spring. In addition to seeing the daffodils in bloom, you can tour the historic Pequotsepos Manor, which was built in 1717 and hike the trails on the property. It’s a great spot to take in beauty and history.

Harkness Memorial State park – Waterford, CT

Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford is another great spot to enjoy daffodils. You’ll find daffodils by the old carriage house and some by the gardens behind the mansion. Be sure to go back in the summer to see the three gardens completely in bloom with other flowers.

The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme is yet another great spot to visit to see daffodils in the spring. You’ll find the daffodils on the far side of the house in the open space. The daffodils and the yellow Florence Griswold House bring a lot of warmth to early spring.

In the spring, you’ll find daffodils and magnolias at Boothe Memorial Park. The daffodils are usually around the main garden, which is worth a visit in the summer months to see the roses. The magnolia trees are on the far side of the park by the Boothe Homestead.

wooster Square Park – New Haven, CT

If you’re looking to see cherry blossoms, Wooster Square Park in New Haven is the place to go. Not only are there beautiful blossoms, but the park is also lined with stunning historic homes. The park isn’t large, but you can also check out Yale’s Campus nearby for some more cherry blossoms or grab pizza from Sally’s Apizza or Frank Pepe’s.

Colorblends House & Spring Garden – Bridgeport, CT

The Colorblends House & Spring Garden is one of my favorites to go for flowers in the spring. This spot features both daffodils and tulips. Typically, the daffodils peak first and the tulips bloom second. There’s also a historic house on the property that features an art gallery. It’s a unique spot to visit!
Elizabeth Park – West Hartford, CT

While most people think of roses when they think of this park, in the spring the gardens feature both daffodils and tulips. I was so impressed by the tulip display when I went, but I don’t remember seeing many daffodils. I think I just might have been too late for daffodils. Dare I say I enjoyed the tulips more than the roses in the summer? I just loved how colorful the display was.
wicked Tulips – Preston, CT

If you’re looking to pick your own tulips, Wicked Tulips is the place to go. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time online. You’ll be able to pick a certain amount of tulips with your admission, and any extras will cost more. This large field of thousands of tulips is a great spot for photos. They also have a location in North Kingstown, Rhode Island (this will be their first year at that location).
Laurel Ridge – Litchfield, CT

Laurel Ridge in Litchfield features tens of thousands of daffodils. What I love about this spot is that it feels like more of a natural setting than a formal garden or park. There are various paths through the field of daffodils and one that leads to the pond. It’s seriously such a scenic and beautiful spot.
Wadsworth Mansion – Middletown, Connecticut

Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown has a Daffodil Day Event that’s worth checking out in the spring. This event features activities, food trucks, and guided tours. You’ll also find some pops of pink from cherry blossoms along the front of the mansion.
Waveny Park – New Canaan, Connecticut

Waveny Park in New Canaan is the site of a historic estate that now serves as a public park. The estate was designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm and it features woodland trails, formal gardens, a pond, and historic buildings. During the spring you’ll find daffodils and some cherry blossoms around the park.
Edgerton Park

Edgerton Park in the East Rock section of New Haven is a great spot to visit in the spring to see flowers. During my spring visit I saw rhododendrons, cherry blossoms, daffodils, and more. Most of the flowers can be found right by the carriage house. However, you’ll find flowers in other parts of the park as well, so it’s worth walking the paths.
