Take A Trip To Block Island

Block Island is a laid-back getaway known for its beaches, bluffs, and bike-friendly roads. With natural beauty, local shops, and historic lighthouses, it’s a popular spot for day trips and weekend escapes. It’s accessible by boat from Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Long Island, NY.

go Out To Rose Island

Rose Island, off the coast of Newport, has a lot of history you can dive into. It’s accessible via the Jamestown-Newport Ferry. On the island, you can explore the fully restored lighthouse museum, explore the historic fort, enjoy panoramic views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge, and even stay overnight.

Go Troll Hunting

Did you know that Rhode Island is home to multiple Thomas Dambo troll sculptures? There are five in total scattered across the state. Since Rhode Island is so small, it’s possible to see them all in one day. Or, you can make a weekend trip out of it!

Go Out To Pomham Rocks Lighthouse

Pomham Rocks Lighthouse is located just south of Providence. It’s situated on an island in the Providence River. The Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse offers tours of the lighthouse. They will take you to the island on a boat that departs from Cranston. The lighthouse was established in 1871.

Explore the Rocky Coastline At Beavertail State Park

I have been in love with Beavertail State Park since I discovered it many years ago. The main feature of the park is the historic Beavertail Lighthouse, which is open to climb a couple times a year. In addition to the lighthouse, there are various trails to explore along the beautiful rocky coastline. This is truly one of my favorite spots in Rhode Island.

Take A Trip To Prudence Island

Prudence Island is a small residential island that’s worth a visit. To get here, you’ll take the ferry from Bristol, Rhode Island. On the island, you can check out Prudence Island Lighthouse, hiking trails, and disc golf courses. It’s a great place for a quiet, nature escape.

Go To Watch Hill

Watch Hill is a beautiful coastal section of Westerly. In Watch Hill, you can go to the beach, dine and shop in downtown, stay at the Ocean House, explore Napatree Preserve, ride a historic carousel, and visit a beautiful lighthouse. Oh, and did I mention Taylor Swift has a house here?

Tour The Newport Mansions

Newport is home to many notable mansions from the Gilded Age. While most people are familiar with The Breakers, there are many more mansions to tour like The Elms, Chateau-Sur-Mer, and the Marble House, just to name a few. These mansions are truly works of art, and many feature beautiful ocean views. The Marble House even has a tea house you can dine at!

Blithewold Manor, Gardens, and Arboretum

Blithewold Manor in Bristol was built in 1895 as a summer estate for Augustus and Bessie Van Wickle. The property is one of the most fully-developed and intact examples of the Country Place Era in the United States. The manor is also nationally significant because of its high artistic value in representing the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement. The grounds feature beautiful gardens and an arboretum, making it a great spot for a summer trip.

Visit The Umbrella Factory

The Umbrella Factory is a super unique spot to check out in Charleston. There are various specialty stores to check out, emus, goats, chickens, and even a bamboo forest to explore! This quirky spot makes for a great spot to check out in the warmer months. There’s a little something for everyone here!
Spend The Day At Roger Williams Park

There is plenty to do in Roger Williams Park. Most people think of the zoo when they hear Roger Williams, but the park has plenty to do for adults and children. Whether you’re looking to go for a walk, go out on a paddle boat, check out the carousel, or explore the botanical center or the museum of natural history…this gorgeous park has you covered.
Visit The Frosty Drew Observatory and Science Center

If you’re looking for a unique way to spend an evening, check out the Frosty Drew Observatory and Science Center, which is in Ninigret Park. The observatory is typically open every Friday night and the time it opens is dependent on what time of year it is. You can learn more about visiting on their website.
Rail Explorers: Rhode Island Division

Rail Explorers: Rhode Island Division is located in Portsmouth. You’ll pedal along what was the Old Colony Railroad, built in 1862. During your ride, you’ll get fantastic views of Narragansett Bay. You’ll unload at the turnaround and picnic for about 20 minutes at a spot that offers some great views before heading back.
