Tucked along Rhode Island’s southern coast, Westerly is a coastal gem that perfectly blends seaside relaxation with small-town charm. Whether you’re planning a summer escape or a quiet weekend retreat, this southern Rhode Island town offers something for every traveler.

Napatree Point

Napatree Point is a beautiful beach and wildlife preserve to visit in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. The point is 1.3 miles long. It’s a great spot to enjoy wildlife, coastal views, and there’s even an old fort towards to end.

Watch Hill Lighthouse

Watch Hill Lighthouse is a lighthouse can be visited year-round from 8am to sunset throughout the year. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy coastal views. If you’re looking to enjoy the museum, it’s open seasonally in July and August.

Ocean House

East Beach

East Beach in Watch Hill stretches from Watch Hill Lighthouse past the Ocean House. The beach offers beautiful views of Watch Hill Lighthouse and it’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxing beach day while in Watch Hill. There’s not a parking lot for this beach though, so you’ll have to find parking nearby and walk.

Misquamicut State Beach

If you’re looking for a beach that’s more developed in Westerly, check out Misquamicut State Beach. This beach is the largest one in Rhode Island with over a half mile of beachfront. Additionally, it features a playground, concessions, outdoor showers, and gazebos. This is the most popular beach in the state, so you’ll want to get there early to ensure you’re able to get in before the lot fills up!

Junk & Java

Junk & Java is a cute coffee shop that’s located just outside of downtown Westerly. They serve great drinks and delicious baked goods. They have both indoor and outdoor seating to sit back and relax.

Weekapaug Overlook

The Scenic Beach Overlook in Weekapaug, Rhode Island is a great spot to sit back and enjoy some ocean views. This scenic overlook is located on Spray Rock Road and it has several parking spots where you can enjoy the scenic views right from your car. This is a great spot to go on colder days to enjoy the ocean from the comfort of your own car.

Wilcox Park

Wilcox Park is located in the heart of downtown Westerly. This park is a great place to take a walk or just sit back and relax. It has many features from beautiful landscaping, fountains, a gazebo, and a pond.

Amigos Taqueria Y Tequila

This spot in downtown Westerly is one of my favorite spots to grab tacos and margaritas. This is a great spot to visit if you like authentic Mexican food. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Martin House Books

Martin House Books is large, two-story bookstore located in the heart of downtown Westerly. This bookstore is super charming inside and they have a great space downstairs for children. They also have a small cafe inside that serves drinks and small bites like sandwiches and baked goods.

Perks & Corks

Perks & Corks is a unique spot to grab drinks in downtown Westerly. It is a martini lounge and coffee house. They have a large selection of drinks to order and it’s a causal spot to grab drinks with friends. This spot is more than just a bar, it’s an experience!

Langworthy Inn & Winery

If you love staying at historic inns, Langworthy Farm is for you. This inn is located in a Westerly historic landmark. It offers historic charm, modern comfort and conveniences, and personalized hospitality. There’s also a winery on-site that has a tasting room with some indoor seating and outdoor seating.

Noodle Revolution

Noodle Revolution is a cozy spot to grab various pan-Asian noodle dishes. The dishes are all loaded with flavor. Everything is made with fresh, local ingredients. This spot is definitely a hidden gem in Westerly.
