Connecticut might be small, but it has a lot to offer. Tourism in Connecticut has been increasing, and I think all of the different tourism trails have been helping. The state doesn’t have just one or two to explore. There are at least seven (that I know of). These trails have been helping to put Connecticut and its various attractions on the map.

There have been a shocking number of holiday movies filmed here in Connecticut, and you can easily check out some of the spots that were featured in your favorite holiday films. The Connecticut Haunted History Trail launched in September of 2026, just in time for spooky season! The trail features over 130 locations. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of this trail when it launched and be a part of the official launch party. The trail features spots that are said to be haunted like museums, restaurants, hotels, hiking trails, cemeteries, and more. While it’s a great trail to explore during fall, many of these spots can be explored year-round!

Connecticut is steeped in Revolutionary War history. In fact, Connecticut and its people played major roles during the American Revolution. For the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Connecticut Revolutionary War Trail was put together to honor the contributions from Connecticut and its people during the war. This is a great trail to visit if you’re interested in American history.

The Connecticut Pizza Trail

In 2025, the Connecticut Office of Tourism launched the Connecticut Pizza Trail. It’s only fitting that Connecticut have this trail since it has been declared the “Pizza Capital of the U.S.” For those of you that might be scratching your head wondering why, it’s because of New Haven’s apizza, which has become a bit of a cultural icon. I might be biased as a Connecticut local, but I really do think it’s the best. It’s made me really picky about getting pizza when I’m traveling out of the state.

The CT Wine Trail

A lot of people don’t think of Connecticut when they think of wine, but we have a lot of great vineyards and wineries throughout the state. The CT Wine Trail offers a passport each year to help making exploring fun. You can get a physical passport or the Passport to CT Wine Country mobile app. The passport features farm wineries that use at least 25% Connecticut Grown product in their wines.

The Connecticut TV-to-Table Trail was launch in October of 2026, and I was lucky enough to be a part of it. Chef Scott Conant, who is from Waterbury, CT, was at the launch for this trail. As someone who loves watching Chopped, this was super exciting.

The trail showcases Connecticut’s chefs that have been on national television. There’s an interactive map to help you discover restaurants and chefs featured on your favorite food TV shows. It’s a great way to taste the great food Connecticut has to offer in addition to exploring parts of the state!
