Stratton, located in southern Vermont, has something for riders and skiers of all abilities. On the mountain, I usually will start on American Express and cut over to URSA Express to get to the summit. I don’t mind the open lift and the lines are usually considerably less going this route to the summit.

Sugarbush Resort

Located in northern Vermont, this ski resort is home to the longest and fastest detachable quad lift in the world. Sugarbush has some of the most open terrain of all of the Northeast and has one of the longest seasons in the East. I love all of the events season long, including the Kentucky Derby in May and Mardi Gras in February.

Sugarloaf

The ‘Loaf’ is always a good time located in northern Maine just two hours north of Portland, ME. With the most trails on the East, there are trails for everyone! Shoot for a bluebird day to catch the incredible views that stretch for miles. Just be careful of the double blacks at the top that can get a little icy! Even being a snowboarder, the ‘Loaf’ has some of my favorite glades on all parts of the mountain!

Killington Ski Resort

The ‘Beast of the East’ is another long season mountain that is open from November to June. Save Superstar for those late season turns to get the glory of riding the glacier while working on your tan! Be sure to plan at least two days to hit all of the terrain to not miss out!

Okemo Mountain Resort

Boasting the biggest vertical drop in southern Vermont, Okemo is a great place for all skills and abilities. If you have an Epic Pass, you get unlimited visits to Okemo! One of the parks at Okemo is where I learned to do some of my first tricks!

Loon Mountain Resort

Boasting the biggest vert in New Hampshire, Loon is a must hit for some good riding. If you are looking for a comfortable ride, be sure to take the Kancamagus 8 seater. Close the bubble to keep the heat in on those blustery days! The Gondola also makes for a comfortable ride up to Loon Peak to get a summit meal or hit some high slope trails.

Sunday River Ski Resort

Some of my friends may nickname it ‘Sunday Ridge’; but, I always have a blast at Sunday River in Maine. An easy drive from Portland, this makes for a great day trip or extended stay. With trails across eight peaks, you want to give yourself plenty of time to explore the mountains. ‘Beat the White Heat’ if you want to get a good leg burn with plenty of moguls and steep double black diamond drop!

Pico Mountain Ski Resort

A snowy mountain landscape with ski slopes, partially snow-covered, and a view of distant hills under a cloudy sky. Sparse trees are visible on both sides.

Part of the Killington family, Pico is a nice, quiet escape if you don’t have it in you to hit ‘The Beast’ while in Vermont. Upper Pike is one of my favorite trails as it always has plenty of moguls to practice technique. If moguls aren’t your style there are plenty of groomers to get your laps in!

Windham Winter Resort

Just a short ride north of New York City, this mountain has some fun terrain for everyone. Be sure to book your tickets/make reservations in advance as they cap the number of tickets. I always hang out on the West Peak which is open during early and late season when I have a chance to go. The Wall always has crazy jumps and moguls to those seeking a little adrenaline!

Mont Tremblant Ski Resort

Located about 80 miles (130 kilometers) north of Montreal, QC, Mont Tremblant will not disappoint if you are into skiing/riding with a flare of luxury. There is a reason why they consistently rank in the top ski resorts for Eastern North America! Mont Tremblant has a little bit for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers and offers a vibrant apres life to wind down after a long day!

Mount Sunapee

Located in southern New Hampshire, this family friendly spot has terrain for all types of skiers and riders. Be sure to ride the Sun Bowl to soak up that winter sunshine and get great views of Lake Sunapee. I recommend using the Epic app if you have a pass to track your laps and easily navigate the mountain!
