Every year, I look for things to do around the state of Connecticut during the holiday season. While I love outdoor displays, I don’t love being cold. Thankfully, there are plenty of drive-thru events to enjoy around the state. This is a great way to enjoy large outdoor displays from the warmth of the car!

Last year, I decided to check out the Fantasy of Lights at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. I gravitated to this one over other light displays because the price point was GREAT and it featured one of my favorite Connecticut lighthouses! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that lighthouses are definitely one of my special interests.

About The Event

This year, the event is from November 21, 2025 to December 31, 2025. The event takes place at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The hours are 5pm-9pm Sunday through Thursday and 5pm-10pm Friday and Saturday.

The event is a very reasonable price with it being only $10 per car. You can purchase a ticket online. When you’re purchasing your tickets, you will have the option to purchase Holiday Lights Effect Glasses.

The event is put on by Goodwill of Southern New England. They have been putting the show on for 30 years. The Fantasy of Lights features 60 animated displays with energy-saving LEDs that are bright, colorful, and vibrant. It takes about 15 minutes to drive through the display.

My Visit To The Event

I went with my boyfriend and my younger sister to this event. I had my boyfriend drive so I could get pictures and videos while he drove. We went on December 1st to celebrate the official start to the holiday season!

When we arrived at the park, there was a line of cars down the street leading to the entrance. Not sure if it was because it was a weekend or not. We didn’t purchase Holiday Lights Effect Glasses beforehand, but we were able to purchase a pair for my sister at the booth before we headed into the light display.

Is This Worth Going To?

While the ride is only 15 minutes long, I think it is absolutely worth checking out. It’s a great family-friendly activity that you can enjoy in the warmth of your car. There are a ton of light displays and the animated ones are really impressive!

Since it is only 15 minutes long, you might want to make a trip of it and do other things in the area. When we went, we decided to check out the tree at the East Haven Town Green afterwards.

Then, we grabbed pizza before heading home. There’s no shortage of great pizza in New Haven!

  1. This looks like a great light show. I like the unique light displays (at least to me as living in upstate New York we don’t have seashore lights). Thanks for sharing.
